Government Allocates $12,000 for Organizing Flight for Citizens from Hurghada
During today’s government meeting, before moving on to the agenda items, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan addressed the issue concerning Armenian citizens stranded in Egypt due to a failure by the travel company to pay the airline, which resulted in the charter flight not taking place.
Avinyan noted that several Armenians have already managed to return to Yerevan, with the first flight bringing back 132 citizens and the second flight bringing back 183 citizens, including 8 children.
“We need to discuss the reasons behind this issue and understand what measures we are taking to prevent this problem in the future and hold those responsible accountable,” emphasized Tigran Avinyan.
The government decided to allocate $12,000 (5,838,000 AMD) from the 2019 state budget to “Taron-Avia” LLC to organize the Hurghada-Yerevan flight.
