Accident in Lori Region: Pregnant Woman's 8-Month-Old Fetus Dies

On July 31, a tragic incident occurred in the Lori region. Shamshyan.com reports that around 08:30, 36-year-old Seryozha Veranian, a resident of Ardvi village, lost control of his Volkswagen Vento on the 30 km section of the Stepanavan-Alaverdi highway and crashed into a concrete barrier.

As a result of the accident, the passengers of the vehicle, 31-year-old Araks Mkhitaryan, who is a villager of the driver, and 7-year-old Arthur Postolokyan from Margahovit village, sustained injuries and were transported to the Alaverdi Medical Center.

According to sources, injured Araks Mkhitaryan is the wife of the driver Seryozha Veranian, who was pregnant. Tragically, her 8-month-old fetus did not survive due to the accident. Following an order from Health Minister Arsen Torosyan, she was transferred to one of the hospitals in Yerevan via a special helicopter that arrived from the capital.
