No Bonuses at Gazprom Armenia for 7 Months After Price Hike
According to information from the newspaper "Fact," an interesting situation has arisen at Gazprom Armenia, where employees are concerned about the fact that they have not received any bonuses during the first seven months of 2019.
It is noteworthy that Gazprom Armenia is one of the companies whose employees were entitled to mandatory quarterly bonuses until this year. Our source within the company indicated that this situation arose after the price of imported gas in Armenia increased starting January 1, 2019.
The authorities declared that the price hike would not affect ordinary citizens, yet currently, the gas price at the border has risen by 15 dollars, from the previous 150 to 165 dollars.
As a result, the management of Gazprom Armenia has privately informed employees not to raise the issue of the absence of bonuses. Specifically, this situation has been explained at regional offices as follows: "Well, the price of gas increased at the border, the price in the country did not rise, and the compensation will be at the company's expense, including your premiums."
It is also worth mentioning that in one of its previous publications, the newspaper reported that Gazprom Armenia is planning to reduce its workforce by 1,500 to 2,000 employees due to this same issue. The source confirmed that, most likely, the planned reductions will take place in the coming September-October period.
