Gunshots in Yerevan: Two Individuals Attempt to Rob the House of the Director of 'GUSH' LLC

On July 26, gunshots were heard in Yerevan. At approximately 5:50 AM, the police received a call from a resident of one of the houses on Tichina Street, who reported that a burglar had entered their home and then fled the scene.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, officers from the Mashtots police department, along with a team from the Yerevan investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee, arrived at the scene. The police and investigators determined that between 4:20 and 4:30 AM on the same day, two masked individuals, using technical means, opened the living room window of the mentioned house and entered.

According to G. Shamshyan's information, the homeowner, 52-year-old Edward Melkonyan, fired shots from a registered pistol at that moment, prompting the masked individuals to flee upon hearing the gunfire.

A 25-year-old resident of Yerevan has been detained on suspicion of committing this crime and was arrested by a decision of the investigator. The police and investigative department are conducting necessary operational and investigative actions to identify and locate the second accomplice. According to G. Shamshyan's information, E. Melkonyan is the director of 'GUSH' LLC.
