VIDEO: 273,000 Dram Withdrawn Using Stolen Bank Cards

Recently, a woman reported to the Vanadzor police department that an unknown person had stolen her wallet, which contained cash and bank cards with passwords. Soon after, another alert was received. In this case, a man had become the target of pickpocketing. Again, there was a stolen bank card involved with a password.

Some time after the incident, the man’s bank card was used to withdraw 100,000 dram. Officers from the Vanadzor police's criminal investigation department managed to trace the suspect through operational measures. They identified a 37-year-old man from Gyumri.

During the operation to locate him, a woman’s bag in Vanadzor was stolen with 330,000 dram inside. Operational data indicated that this theft was also committed by the man from Gyumri. He was found and taken to the Vanadzor police department.

On the same day he was detained, yet another alert was received; a man had withdrawn 273,000 dram with a stolen bank card. Once again, the password was included with the card. The detained individual confessed that he had committed this theft hours earlier. Law enforcement has credible information suggesting that he did not act alone.

In order to fully uncover this matter, operational and investigative measures are underway. A criminal case has been opened, and the investigation continues.
