Rescuers Attempt to Recover Bodies from Fatal Accident in Gorge

The names of the victims of the tragic accident on the Goris-Stepanakert highway have been revealed. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Artsakh Emergency Situations Ministry.

Today at 13:21, the crisis management center of the Artsakh State Emergency Situations Service received a call from a citizen stating that their relatives, who were traveling from Tegh village in the Syunik Province of Armenia to the Hadrut region of Artsakh (it has been confirmed that the vehicle crossed the Aghavnadzor checkpoint around 07:00), were not responding to phone calls.

At 14:43, it was determined that the vehicle, a "Gaz 3110," had crashed at the 77th km of the Goris-Stepanakert highway and rolled into a gorge, resulting in the death of the driver and all four passengers. The victims, all residents of Tegh village, Syunik Province, have been identified as Harut Avagyan (born 1992), Nelli Grigoryan (born 1994), Robert Avagyan (born 1982), Andranik Avagyan (born 1958), and Seda Baghdasaryan (born 1961).

Rescuers from the rapid response unit of the Emergency Situations Service, along with police and ambulance personnel, have arrived at the scene. Currently, rescuers are working to retrieve the bodies of the deceased from the gorge.
