Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: Dispute with JUKE President Manuel Gasparyan Ends in Gunfire

On July 24 in Yerevan, gunshots were fired. Around 23:40, the Kanaker-Zeytun police received a call regarding shots fired near house number 20 on Gertseni Street.

According to Shamshyan.com, police determined that a dispute had arisen in front of that house between 44-year-old Manuel Gasparyan, a resident of that address, and another citizen concerning irregular traffic on the street, during which M. Gasparyan made a remark to that citizen.

Some time later, that citizen returned with a few friends to M. Gasparyan's house and intentionally disturbed public order in a gross manner, displaying open disrespect for the community. He fired several shots from his handgun and then left with his friends.

Police found a shot casing during their investigation at the scene. They are taking necessary operational-investigative measures to identify both the mentioned individual and his companions.

According to sources, police are aware of the identity of this person. Interestingly, M. Gasparyan is the son of Manuk Gasparyan, a former member of the National Assembly and founder-president of the Democratic Path party who passed away years ago.
