Explosion in Gyumri: 44-Year-Old Municipal Driver Hospitalized

Around midnight yesterday, an explosion occurred in the city of Gyumri, resulting in a 44-year-old man being transferred to the Gyumri Medical Center.

According to Sputnik Armenia, the man sustained injuries to various parts of his body. He works in the municipal department of the Gyumri City Hall as a garbage truck driver.

While conducting waste collection operations on Koshtoy Street, he found a grenade's detonator and, instead of notifying the authorities, removed the pin from the detonator. This action led to the explosion.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
