My Resident is the Grandfather from Berdavan Whose Son Was Taken Captive, and They Are Not My Residents: Governor of Tavush
Yesterday we received only 4 job applications, but if you go outside now, you will get 40 complaints from the gathered people. This was stated today by the Governor of Tavush, Hayk Chobanyan, referring to his announcement that there are vacant jobs in the Tavush region.
“Here, the struggle is between the individual and the national; statehood is the highest form of organizing national interests, and we are trampling on our national interests for the sake of our own private ambitions or diseases. Cutting down forests is murder, and there is no justification for these people. My resident is the 18-year-old soldier who goes to fight; my resident is that grandfather from Berdavan whose son was captured at one time, and he has done everything to bring his son's body back; my resident is the person who, out of respect for the statehood, does not utter a word, but his son is in Azerbaijan; they are my residents, they are Tavush residents, and they are not my residents,” said the governor.
Chobanyan reported that the first applications were received yesterday and today. At the moment, they have 276 registered vacant positions that they are offering to the residents and several hundred more jobs in military units. According to him, they can provide jobs for more than a thousand citizens if they wish to work.
Regarding the average salary for vacant positions, the governor noted that their offers start from the lowest at 105,000 drams. “That is the net salary; these are the simplest jobs, including military service, road construction, etc. Work in the textile sector starts from 120,000 drams, ranging from 8,000 to 15,000 per day, and we have 168 vacant positions in schools,” he added.
