This Idol Will Break, That I Have Said 'Yes': Relative of Arrested in Ijevan
A relative of one of the arrested individuals during a protest near the marzpetaran (regional administration) in Ijevan has shared their account: “They have taken all the male representatives. It was irrelevant who they were. My 21-year-old disabled son, connected to the wheelchair, cannot move. They entered the room, took his father and brother, and put him in handcuffs. Did they see him during the protest when they wanted to put handcuffs on him?”
The witness recounted that when an Armenian named Hrachya Harutyunyan was dressed in a robe during the trial in Russia, everyone here criticized it, yet yesterday, the police handcuffed men half-naked from their homes. “What kind of world is this? This idol will break, that I have said ‘yes’, that I have elected Nikol, it will break, it will break,” the relative declared.
It’s noteworthy that a clash occurred in Ijevan yesterday evening between protesters blocking the road—mostly individuals engaged in the timber industry—and the police, when the latter attempted to clear the roadway.
