Limited Availability of Cash Registers: Distribution Only to Registered Taxpayers in Border Villages, Says Tax Authority
Due to the insufficient number of cash registers, the Office for the Introduction of Cash Registers will be providing cash registers only to registered taxpayers engaged in actual activities in border villages listed in the Armenian government's decision No. 713, dated October 17, 1998. This decision is based on the Armenian government’s resolution No. 861, dated July 20, 2017.
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) informed NEWS.am that, with the aim of liberalizing the cash register market, the SRC has been working since 2018 on a package of legal amendments intended to ease technical requirements for cash registers and simplify the implementation process. In particular, amendments have been made to government decisions No. 1318-N dated October 5, 2017, No. 1419-N dated October 8, 2012, and No. 861-N dated July 20, 2017.
As a result of the accepted amendments, any economic entity can carry out the cash register implementation process in accordance with the requirements set by the government. At the same time, the SRC once again urges economic entities at the forefront of liberalization and potential other importers to submit their proposed models of cash registers as soon as possible to obtain the necessary compliance conclusions outlined in government decision No. 1419 dated October 8, 2012, in order to meet the demand for more than 9,000 cash register devices.
