Why Arsen Torosyan Did Not Attend the Discussion on Lake Sevan in the National Assembly
Yesterday, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan was invited to participate in the discussion on "The Issues of Lake Sevan and Paths to Their Solutions." However, Torosyan's assistant informed that he would be on vacation starting today and, unfortunately, would not be able to attend the discussion. This was reported by Alina Nikoghosyan, the press secretary of the Minister of Health, on her Facebook page.
“Today, a discussion took place in the National Assembly on 'The Issues of Lake Sevan and Paths to Their Solutions,' during which MP Naira Zohrabyan from the Prosperous Armenia faction stated the following: 'I do not see two ministers here—the Minister of Health and the Minister of Environment—who were sent invitations. The issue we are discussing today is directly related to their fields of responsibility. I regret that the ministers are not here; this is disrespectful to the parliament. I will be addressing the Prime Minister today with a letter,'” she wrote.
“I want to inform you that the minister was invited to attend this session, and Arsen Torosyan's assistant warned that he would be on vacation starting today, so unfortunately, he would not be able to participate in the discussion. However, recognizing the importance of the raised issue and the opportunity presented, it was suggested that Nune Bakunts, the Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, attend the session on behalf of the Minister of Health, who was present at the discussion today,” she added.
