The Highway to Ijevan is Full of Police Cars: MP
Arman Babajanyan, a member of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, has been providing updates about the situation in Ijevan on his Facebook page. The MP specifically stated: "The highway leading to Ijevan is full of police cars. As a result of clashes that occurred about an hour ago, 11 police officers were injured, one of whom sustained a skull injury. According to reports, the interstate road is currently closed. Protesters are waiting for the arrival of Police Chief Valeri Osipyan. I will provide further details upon my arrival in Ijevan."
Moments later, he made another post informing that: "At this moment, I am in contact with the Human Rights Defender. According to Arman Tatoyan, the Defender's office is receiving calls from citizens in Ijevan. Due to the closed interstate road by the protesters, families, including children, are unable to reach their residences. The Human Rights Defender will issue a statement soon."
