Establishing an Aviation School in Armenia Could Enable Locally Trained Specialists to Fly in Europe

The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia is in negotiations with a Russian investor to establish an enterprise for assembling aircraft spare parts in the country. This was stated by Tatsevik Revazyan, the chairperson of the RA Civil Aviation Committee, during a press conference held today.

According to her, the negotiations are at the initial stage, and if they conclude successfully, more than 1,000 new jobs will be created.

Revazyan emphasized the need to organize qualification enhancement and retraining courses for Armenian engineers and other specialists in the aviation field. She refrained from disclosing specific details about the company involved until the negotiations are finalized.

“There is a high demand for pilots and aviation engineers globally, and therefore companies are interested in having their trained personnel,” she noted.

Revazyan also revealed that talks are ongoing with investors who would engage in aviation training in the country. In particular, the focus is on establishing an aviation school that will cover all specialties in the field. She stated that specialists from Cyprus recently visited Armenia to familiarize themselves with the local capabilities.

“They are ready to establish such a school and train licensed professionals so that locally prepared specialists can fly in Europe. Currently, preliminary negotiations are underway,” Revazyan mentioned.
