Around 12 Thousand Foreign Tourists Visit Artsakh

In the first half of this year, approximately 12,606 foreign tourists visited Artsakh. Artaq Grigoryan, head of the Tourism Department of the Artsakh Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, stated this during a conversation with an Artsakhpress correspondent.

According to him, foreign tourist visits to Artsakh have increased by 68.5% in the first half of 2019 compared to the same period in 2018.

“In the three information centers operating in Artsakh, 580 tourists have taken advantage of free services. They received comprehensive information about Artsakh’s tourist sites, hotels, transport, and other services through free literature or verbally. Since June 1, under the 'Tourist Bus' initiative, 906 domestic and foreign tourists have visited the Togh Melik Dynasty Residence, Tigranakert, Gandzasar, and the Hunot Gorge,” Grigoryan detailed.

He also noted that during the same period, the Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism registered 17 new hotel facilities, including hotels and guesthouses. The total number of hotel enterprises has reached 78, providing 1,828 bed places.
