Your Kind Disrupts the Judicial Authority: Arpine Hovhannisyan Responds to Nakshun Tavaratsyan
The former Minister of Justice, Arpine Hovhannisyan, has responded to the statement made by Nakshun Tavaratsyan, a member of the Supreme Judicial Council, who claimed that Hovhannisyan's assertion regarding the impossibility of her becoming a member of the Council was driven by personal motives.
“You should tell Ms. Nakshun... If she has guided her entire life by personal goals, it does not mean that everyone is like her. If it is personal that you and your like are disrupting the judicial authority and I am voicing this, then yes, I had a personal goal. My respect is for the judges who have shown human and professional dignity today, something that Ms. Nakshun and her patrons have exposed,” she stated.
“A group of 'legal experts' has formed in the country that is systematically engaged in the 'destruction' of the law. The authors of the scenario that assigned this lady a role as a tool in the judicial system and beyond have reserved for her the role of the 'executioner' of law, behind the scenes. Who she did this for and why—who will step onto the stage, you will see soon,” she added.
It is noteworthy that the media reported that Nakshun Tavaratsyan, who had submitted a written refusal to become a member of the Supreme Judicial Council nine months ago, is preparing to take an oath during the general assembly of judges.
In this context, former Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan expressed the opinion that if Nakshun Tavaratsyan takes an oath nine months after her written resignation, it indicates that the President of the Supreme Court and, in general, the judicial system, as well as all those who tolerate this blatant illegality, should be subjected to vetting first.
Nakshun Tavaratsyan claimed that Arpine Hovhannisyan's statement was motivated by certain personal goals.
