Driver Arrested in Fatal Accident on Zod Bridge Has Not Been Interrogated
Yesterday, the court granted the request of the Investigative Committee of Armenia to detain the driver of the "Toyota Hilux" involved in the tragic accident on the bridge of Banavan in the Ararat region.
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, the driver of the "Toyota Hilux" has not yet been interrogated by law enforcement, as he has been unable to speak and is currently in intensive care.
As reported, on July 6, 2019, around 3:00 PM, vehicles including a "Gazelle," a "Toyota Hilux," and a "VAZ 21063" collided on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, resulting in a fire igniting in the "Gazelle" vehicle. Six individuals died at the scene from burns, while the others, including the driver of the "Toyota Hilux" and passengers, totaling 11, were transported to medical centers with various injuries.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Vedi investigative department under Article 242, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (Violation of Traffic Rules).
