‘Burn’, ‘Tear’, ‘Expel’. Naira Zohrabyan Targeted by LGBT Community
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: Following the news of the ratification of the Istanbul Convention, representatives of the non-traditional sexual orientation community have targeted the National Assembly deputies who uphold traditional values.
Recently, transgender activist Lilit Martirosyan, speaking from the National Assembly podium, called on ‘My Step’ deputy Sofia Hovsepyan, who criticized the convention, to resign from her mandate. Meanwhile, a Facebook user named 'Gevorgyan Ashot', one of Lilit Martirosyan's Facebook friends, suggested to 'burn', 'tear', and 'expel' the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party deputies and head of the National Assembly's Human Rights Committee, Naira Zohrabyan.
Zohrabyan responded humorously to such calls, stating: 'I should mention that this character calling for my burning is not particularly original. Calls for burning and hanging have been made at different times. Don’t waste unnecessary energy and emotion; I am not flammable. Moreover, such calls should be addressed by law enforcement.'
