Deputy Minister Discusses Malfunctioning Equipment During Widespread Power Outages
The Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Energy Infrastructure of Armenia, Hakob Vardanyan, addressed reporters today regarding the situation of equipment malfunctions during the recent widespread power outages.
“So far, no significant disruptions have been reported. Due to fluctuations, the settings of electrical equipment might have changed, which could cause issues with reloading their programs. We need time to understand what has occurred in all the locations where fluctuations and supply disruptions happened. I hope we don’t have any major problems. If everything is adjusted at the production plants, I believe we have not encountered more serious issues elsewhere,” Vardanyan stated. He added that if the protective systems had not functioned, the 5th block and the Yerevan thermal power plant would not have remained operational. “All protective systems have reliably functioned,” he concluded.
