Another Act of Vandalism Against Nature: Over 15-Meter High Fir Trees Cut Down in Gegharkunik Region
Shamshyan.com reports that days ago, an act of true vandalism against nature was committed in the administrative area of Zolakar village, specifically in the Vardenik site. Unknown individuals have illegally cut down more than seven huge healthy fir trees, approximately 15-17 meters high and around 40 years old. As a result, branches from the cut firs are scattered in the area, while the healthy trunks have been taken away by the vandals.
According to photojournalists, this area belongs to the Sevan National Park, and therefore, it should have supervising guards to prevent such incidents.
