2200-2400 New Trash Bins to Arrive in Yerevan: Sipan Asatryan
On July 8, several members of the council met urgently with the first deputy mayor, Hrach Sargsyan, to receive direct updates regarding the waste management issue. This was reported on Facebook by Sipan Asatryan, a member of the ‘My Step’ faction.
“One thing is clear: the ‘Sanitek’ company has failed the city’s waste management process, which has led to the establishment of the community organization ‘Yerevan Waste Management and Sanitary Cleaning.’ The organization continues to be supplemented with human resources and equipment:
- In the coming weeks, approximately 2200-2400 new trash bins will arrive in Yerevan in several batches;
- The garbage trucks purchased by the municipality are still being assembled at the factory, and a few of them will be sent to Yerevan in the coming days. Seven new garbage trucks will arrive in Yerevan on August 7.
Dear fellow citizens, we understand your justified complaints regarding the poor state of waste management since we all live in the same courtyards, walk on problematic streets, and breathe in the unpleasant smell of trash. As your trusted representatives, we ask for your patience and assure you that we, both the members of the ‘My Step’ faction and our executive partners, are committed to promptly resolving the urgent waste management issues.”
