Protests Erupt Again Outside Rustavi 2 Building in Georgia

Protests have been ongoing for the second day outside the Georgian television station Rustavi 2, sparked by a recent outburst from the host of the program “P.S.”, Giorgi Gabuniya, who made derogatory remarks towards Russian President Vladimir Putin at the beginning of the broadcast yesterday, according to РИА Новости.

A large number of social media users have criticized Gabuniya and expressed concerns that Georgian-Russian relations may further deteriorate. The General Director of the television station, Nika Gvaramia, stated that he finds the insult unacceptable on air, although he shares the host's opinion.

Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has also expressed his opposition to the hysteria and the epithets through his Facebook page, arguing that reality should be communicated in a “civilized way,” although he later deleted the post.
