Georgian Broadcaster Who Insulted Putin Has His Powers Suspended for Two Months
The broadcaster of "Rustavi 2", Giorgi Gabunia, has had his powers suspended for two months. According to the television station, this decision was made by the self-regulatory body of the media outlet.
As previously reported, the Georgian "Rustavi 2" television station halted broadcasting due to a protest rally held outside its building. Protesters demanded the dismissal of journalist Giorgi Gabunia, who, it should be noted, made inappropriate remarks about Russian President Vladimir Putin during his authorial program "P.S.". The television channel later resumed operations.
Georgian authorities and the virtual community have reacted strongly to the broadcaster's actions.
