VIDEO: Unidentified Object Falls and Explodes in Cyprus

An unidentified object has fallen and exploded 12 kilometers northeast of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. According to In-Cyprus.com, the incident occurred on the night of July 1, and there are no reported injuries. Witnesses reported seeing a bright flash in the sky followed by several explosions.

The Cypriot police are still investigating the causes of the explosion. Local residents have reported that the blast sounded like either a helicopter, airplane, or munitions explosion. Turkish journalist Hüseyin Ekmeççi shared photos from the scene on his Facebook page, claiming that there were inscriptions in Russian on the fragments. He speculated that Syria may have activated its air defense systems in response to an Israeli strike, and that the object that fell in Cyprus could be a C-125 missile.
