Abkhazia Temporarily Closes State Border with Georgia

The State Security Service of Abkhazia has imposed temporary restrictions on crossing the border with Georgia. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Moreover, entry for residents of Abkhazia into Georgia has been prohibited. According to the State Security Service, these measures have been implemented due to protests taking place in Georgia that are "related to the statehood of Abkhazia."

"The State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia has developed and is implementing necessary measures," stated the Service.

Restrictions on the entry of foreigners from Georgia have been in place since June 27.
