The Vetting Process Enters Its Final Phase: A Decision Has Been Made. What Is the Most Intriguing Issue?

According to the 'Fact' newspaper, the authorities do not seem to be planning to create a new commission or investigative body for transitional justice and vetting. Those responsibilities will likely be carried out through the Supreme Judicial Council and the anti-corruption agency, which is set to have its powers significantly expanded.

According to 'Fact,' there is already a political preliminary decision that mainly individuals representing the ruling party will be included in the anti-corruption commission, although it is not ruled out that one or two representatives from the opposition sector may also be included to maintain the formal aspect.

This approach has caused dissatisfaction among opposition members in parliament. Notably, according to credible sources from the newspaper, a concept for conducting vetting is currently being prepared, and intriguingly, a significant number of foreign experts are among its developers, as the authorities do not have enough specialists knowledgeable about the field within their ranks, and apart from the team members, they simply do not trust anyone else.
