Kotayk Governor Comments on Sasun Mikayelyan's Resignation Rumors
I am not aware of such an incident, and I do not see such an atmosphere. This was stated today, June 27, by Kotayk Governor Romaros Petrosyan during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly, responding to rumors that his party mate Sasun Mikayelyan is upset and ready to resign.
When asked if he had Mikayelyan in mind when discussing the clan system and whether Mikayelyan has territories in the Kotayk region, the governor did not answer, stating that he considers the question improper. He added that he does not have strained relations with Mikayelyan.
“I do not deny that there can be some disagreements within a political force, which is very healthy. Because we are not a force governed by a centralized body or super leaders. After the elections in Abovyan, I said that Mr. Mikayelyan did not help us,” the governor said.
Regarding his relationship with Sasun Mikayelyan's son, who is the mayor of Hrazdan, the governor noted, “We have a good working relationship with the mayor of Hrazdan. At the moment, we have submitted applications for 7 subsidized projects in Hrazdan, two of which have already been approved. Hrazdan has changed quite significantly; I do not see any issues arising from any other circumstances.”
