Armenian Embassy in Georgia Addresses Issues Faced by Citizens Disembarked from Bus at Upper Lars
The Armenian Embassy in Georgia is working to organize the transportation of passengers from a bus belonging to an Armenian transport company that was left stranded at Upper Lars. This was reported to NEWS.am by the Armenian Embassy in Georgia.
Currently, 48 passengers, including 13 children, who arrived from Moscow to Armenia are waiting at the Upper Lars border checkpoint.
Earlier, media outlets reported that a bus departing from Moscow on June 22 was not allowed to cross the Russian-Georgian border overnight. According to our information, the bus belonging to the Armenian transport company ‘Avazhar Bus’ was stopped at the Upper Lars checkpoint by Georgian border guards.
Preliminary reports suggest that the guards found a suspicious item with the Armenian driver, after which the passengers were disembarked, and the bus was taken for inspection. The Armenian driver is currently being questioned.
