Video: A Group of Yezidis Protest Outside the Prosecutor's Office Demanding the Release of the Accused in the 1 kg Drug Case Found in Artsakh
A group of dozens of Yezidi citizens is currently holding a protest outside the Prosecutor General's Office. They demand the release of the accused, Aylaz Amoyan, in the case involving 1 kg of narcotics discovered in Artsakh, as well as the other defendants in the same case. Those gathered in front of the Prosecutor's Office are relatives and close friends of Amoyan.
His brother, Misha Amoyan, told us that his brother has been in custody since March 11. The protesters are convinced that the charges against him are unfounded and are pressing for a meeting with the Prosecutor General. The preliminary investigation in Amoyan's case concluded yesterday. He is charged with the illegal circulation of narcotics and smuggling, as reported by Hetq.
In an interview with us, Amoyan's lawyer, Syuzanna Khcheyann, expressed confusion as to why the case involving the narcotics found in Artsakh is being investigated by Armenia's National Security Service. According to Khcheyann, Amoyan does not accept the charges against him. She stated that the NSS had not found any narcotics on Amoyan, and that authorities discovered 1 kg of heroin three hours after detaining him, in an area described by the criminal case as approximately 10 km of unregulated territory.
It should be noted that two other individuals are also in custody in connection with this case. For further details, refer to the original source.
