Village Head Assaults Local Resident with Friends
On June 18, the Armavir Medical Center reported to the Armavir police that a citizen had been admitted with diagnoses including "soft tissue contusions of the chest area, dog bite wounds, contusions of the left hip, contusions in the middle third of the thigh, abrasions." According to Shamshyan.com, it was revealed that the injured party is 56-year-old Djengir Asadyan, a resident of the village of Eraskhahun in the Armavir region. He informed the police that he had sustained his injuries due to being assaulted and bitten by a dog in Yerevan.
It became known that on the same day, around 15:30, Djengir Asadyan had an argument with 54-year-old Armen Avetisyan, a resident of Eraskhahun, near the "Eastern Cuisine" restaurant complex in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan. Under Avetisyan's direction, three young men joined in the dispute. One of them struck Djengir Asadyan several times in the back, while another released a dog onto him. As a result of the beating and dog bite, Djengir Asadyan sustained bodily injuries.
Sources indicate that Armen Avetisyan is the head of the Eraskhahun community.
