VIDEO: Two Young People Beaten in Tbilisi for Having Long Hair and Wearing Earrings
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has arrested one person in connection with an incident that occurred yesterday at the "Rustaveli" metro station in Tbilisi, where nationalists attacked two young men for having long hair and wearing earrings, reports Грузия онлайн.
The man, along with several like-minded individuals, followed the boys up the escalator and struck them as they were exiting the metro. Before fleeing, he reportedly directed offensive remarks towards the police officers standing at the metro entrance.
The incident was captured by a correspondent from the Georgian Public Broadcaster. It all began when a man noticed the two young people, presumably musicians, at the station, and their appearance seemed to "irritate" him.
Just a day before, Georgian nationalist organizations and radical groups issued warnings against the activities of the LGBT community.
