Platini is Now a Free Man

Former UEFA President Michel Platini has been released. The Frenchman was questioned for several hours by France's anti-corruption agency before being set free.

Platini was arrested due to his involvement in corruption schemes related to the organization of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Qatar was awarded the right to host the 2022 World Cup in 2010, during Platini's tenure as UEFA President.

Michel Platini served as the UEFA President from 2007 until 2015.
