Elderly Woman Reports Theft of Approximately $15,000 from Her Belt

A significant theft occurred in the Kotayk region. On June 16, an 81-year-old resident of the village of Zovuni, identified as L.S., reported to the Nairi police department that between June 14 and June 16, under unknown circumstances, an unknown individual or individuals stole her clothing and $9,000 that was secured inside the waistband of a skirt placed on a box in her bedroom.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, L.S. informed the police that between June 2 and June 8 of this year, approximately $5,600 was also stolen from her bedroom. She told the operational team that arrived at the scene that she had not contacted the police earlier as she wanted to discuss the incidents with her relatives.

An investigation has been initiated in the investigative department of the Nairi police department regarding the incident.
