Two Children Injured in Hit-and-Run in Yerevan

Today, on June 14, a hit-and-run incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 20:00, 29-year-old Lianna Malkhasyan, driving a Nissan vehicle with license plate number 35 AT 911, ran over two pedestrians at the intersection of Andranik and Ohanov streets in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and helped the injured children, who were on a quad bike and crossing at a designated pedestrian area. They were transported to Saint Astvatsamayr Medical Center.

The first battalion of the traffic police, under the command of Marat Simonian, arrived promptly at the scene. The responsible duty officer Garik Hakobyan reported the incident to the traffic police's department for investigating traffic accidents and conducting administrative proceedings, from where an investigative group headed by investigator Hovhannes Sargsyan arrived to prepare materials regarding the incident.

The police are working to identify the injured children.
