Armen Khachatryan's Project Provokes Commotion in 'My Step' Faction

According to the newspaper 'Joghourd', 'Yesterday, a commotion was caused within the 'My Step' faction of the National Assembly by the draft law on amending the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia introduced by faction member Armen Khachatryan. It turns out that Khachatryan initiated this bill spontaneously and did not inform the faction about it.

Yesterday, the leadership of the faction tried to obtain clarifications from Khachatryan to understand why he submitted a project they described as absurd.

In an interview with 'Joghourd', Lilit Makunts, the head of the 'My Step' faction, stated that she was unaware of the project. When asked whether a public insult against a representative of the government should be penalized, she replied, 'Personally, I believe not. I don't think there's a need for it.'

Yesterday, Armen Khachatryan withdrew the bill and stated that he would resubmit it after discussions.
