We Need to Understand Why New Players Are Not Emerging in the Gas and Fuel Market, Given Its Profitability – Gegham Gevorgyan
Studies in the gasoline and gas market are underway, with work also being conducted on market regulation in collaboration with other partner agencies, and the picture will be clearer by August. This was stated by Gegham Gevorgyan, the chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, in an interview with Tert.am regarding the Prime Minister's directive to investigate the gasoline and gas markets and the current findings.
“We are examining the entire legal framework, trying to obtain an objective reality, so if there are no legal obstacles to entering the market, which is a profitable sector, we need to understand why new players and new entrepreneurs are not emerging in our market and why the same businesses are always present. To provide a complete package and give comprehensive answers to all questions, I believe we need at least three months,” he said, noting that they are currently working intensively in this direction.
