Criminal Cases Opened Against Two Members of Parliament

The Armenian Investigative Committee has opened two criminal cases regarding two members of the National Assembly of Armenia, both of whom are from the ruling My Step Alliance. This information was shared by Haik Grigoryan, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, in an interview with the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd'.

“We have two cases involving MPs. The threats directed towards Sofia Hovsepyan and Gayane Abrahamyan have led to the opening of criminal cases under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and we are conducting a preliminary investigation,” stated the head of the committee.

When asked if there are any suspects regarding who threatened the legislators and why, the chairman only mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, and currently, there are no suspects. Haik Grigoryan did not elaborate on how and why the legislators were threatened,” the newspaper reports.
