8-Month-Old Child Electrocuted in Vedi
According to reports from ArmDaily.am, an 8-month-old boy died last night in the city of Vedi, Ararat Province.
Preliminary information suggests that the incident occurred in their apartment, where construction work was being carried out. The child, who was in a stroller, came into contact with an open electrical junction and was electrocuted.
The child was under the supervision of a great-grandmother, who did not notice how the child approached the exposed wiring and was electrocuted. The family was unaware that the child had been electrocuted and initially thought he had swallowed his tongue, which led to delays in providing proper assistance. The child was left without aid for 45-50 minutes after the electrocution.
When they realized they were unable to help the child on their own, they called for an ambulance. Unfortunately, the emergency responders who arrived at the scene confirmed the child’s death.
The child was the firstborn of the family, and the couple had recently gotten married.
