VIDEO: Police Assault Armenian Citizens in Akhalkalaki – Armen Avetisyan

Armen Avetisyan, the head of the Yerevan State University trade union, wrote on his Facebook page:

“What happened a few hours ago in Akhalkalaki is nothing short of police terror.

The police brutally beat citizens and used unlawful and disproportionate force against them. Women and a minor present during the incident were also subjected to physical violence by the police. One of the outrageous officers even pointed a weapon at one of the women’s heads.

This despicable incident must be assessed legally immediately, and the police officers who clearly exceeded their authority must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
