Animal Remains Found in Trash Near Gumi Market: City Hall's Response
In the center of Yerevan, near the Gumi market, a garbage bin is overloaded with household waste and animal remains, including bones, carcasses, and skulls.
After sharing photographs posted by a Facebook user with the Yerevan City Hall, we requested a comment regarding this unhygienic situation.
“We are seeing an absolutely unacceptable picture there, and it is clear that butchers are dumping waste in an area where they have no right to do so, creating a dangerous situation. The waste removal company, Sanitek, or our communal vehicles will clean that area if it hasn't already been done. I think it has already been cleaned. Moreover, after becoming aware of the issue, the mayor instructed the head of the administrative district to work with the relevant departments to prevent such scenes in the future,” said Hakob Karapetyan, the press secretary of the Yerevan mayor.
