Water Flows Relentlessly for Over 8 Hours at 40 Meters High in Ararat Province

On June 5, at 12:30 PM, due to a rupture in a massive water pipeline near the well-known 'Continental' restaurant complex along the Yerevan-Artashat highway, water has been gushing uncontrollably, reports Shamshyan.com.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the height of the spouting water is approximately 40-50 meters, making it extremely difficult to approach without getting thoroughly drenched. People gathered near the broken pipeline remarked, 'This situation has been ongoing since 12:30. We have called the Water State Committee, but we have not received any positive feedback. We need water for irrigation in these hot days, yet for over 8 hours, the water flows uncontrollably and disappears, while the relevant authorities remain inactive in addressing the issue. The only timely response we received was from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which dispatched Masis rescuers to the scene, but to be honest, the rescuers have no solution here. The main responsible party is the Water State Committee, which either does not answer our phone calls or the line is always busy.' The photojournalist also reports that it remains unclear whether the flowing water is drinkable or for irrigation.
