VIDEO: How a Man Escapes After a Robbery in Nor Aresh
On June 2, a woman reported to the Erbun police station that on May 31, during the day, someone approached her from behind on 15th street of Nor Aresh, snatched her gold chain with a cross from her neck, and fled.
Immediately after receiving the report, criminal investigators began search operations.
To locate the person who committed the robbery and recover the stolen item, apart from operational inquiries, law enforcement officials also reviewed surveillance footage from cameras installed near the adjacent buildings and objects at the crime scene.
The surveillance devices captured footage of the fleeing man.
He matched the description given by the victim. The search operations continued. On June 3, criminal investigators received information that the robbery might have been committed by a 38-year-old resident of Yerevan's Railwaymen Street. On the same day, he was apprehended on suspicion of robbery and taken to the Erbun police station.
The investigators were not mistaken. The suspect not only confessed to the crime but also detailed, during the investigative experiment, how he committed the robbery and in which direction he fled.
The circumstances are being clarified.
Measures are being taken to recover the stolen item.
