Pashinyan's Supporters Threaten to Paralyze Courts Again
In support of an independent judicial system, around two dozen citizens attended a rally organized by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's supporters, as reported by News am.
The participants expressed their distrust in the judicial system, citing the court proceedings related to former President Robert Kocharyan's case as a prime example of this distrust. “We want justice to prevail, and we will do everything to ensure that Robert Kocharyan serves the appropriate sentence,” declared one of the rally participants.
The protesters gave the judges of the courts and members of the Public Council a 14-day ultimatum to resign. “We are giving the Public Council and the corrupt judges of the courts 14 days to resign. If we do not see at least half of their resignations within this period, we will be forced to paralyze the courts,” they stated.
The President of the Public Council announced that he is willing to sign off for Robert Kocharyan and opposes blocking the entrances to the courts. This implies that the Public Council is not representing the interests of the public but rather serving the interests of a group of lawless individuals,” stated rally organizer Jivon Abrahamyan.
