Police to Investigate Assault Case Involving ANC Member Vardan Harutyunyan

ANC member Vardan Harutyunyan has reported an incident of assault. This information has been confirmed by the Armenian police.

According to Vardan Harutyunyan, one of the users on Facebook wrote today on their page that they were attacked near their workplace, and previously, they were also assaulted near their home a few days ago.

An operational group has been dispatched to the scene of the incident. The victim has provided a report, and measures are being taken to identify those involved in the incident and clarify all circumstances surrounding it.

Materials are being prepared at the Central Police Department.

Regarding the previous incident, it is reported that on May 19, a similar report was received from Vardan Harutyunyan by the Arabkir police, but he chose not to file a report with the police regarding that incident.

Based on the measures taken and the materials prepared regarding the infliction of bodily injury, a decision was made on May 30 to refuse to initiate a criminal case under paragraph 4 of part 1 of Article 35 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code due to the lack of a complaint from the victim.

A copy of the decision has been sent to the citizen.
