Video: Gifts Thrown to Children from a Car in Ejmiatsin
Journalist Hasmik Hambardzumyan shared photos and a video from the June 1 celebrations held in Ejmiatsin on her Facebook page.
“We went to Ejmiatsin, and what we saw was simply horrifying,” she wrote, noting that someone decided to cheer up the children by bringing toy gifts in cars to the city center.
“When the car doors were opened, there was a rush of children and their mothers, each trying to grab as many toys as possible. I can’t even describe the heat and the screams. It was just vulgarity, shame, and disgrace,” Hambardzumyan reported.
In response to the journalist's post, Ejmiatsin Mayor Diana Gasparyan informed that the organizers had not previously notified the city hall, and as a result, they would be fined in accordance with the law.
According to the mayor, the event organized by the city hall took place in a nearby area and was very successful.
