Video: Altercation Between a Group of Soldiers and a Civilian in Yerevan

A video has surfaced on the Facebook social network depicting an argument between a group of soldiers and a civilian. The video was posted by a user named Vahan Janoyan, who was involved in the incident.

In an interview with Factor.am, Vahan Janoyan stated that he was driving when a group of soldiers suddenly crossed the street. The driver sounded his horn to warn them not to cross at an unauthorized location, which sparked the altercation.

“I was coming down from Jrvazh to Masiv and saw that the soldiers began to cross the street in a group from an unplanned spot. I honked and braked. When I braked, they approached me. I asked, 'Don’t you see there’s a crosswalk 20 meters away? Why are you crossing here?' They responded that they would cross wherever they wanted. They said, ‘We can do whatever we want; we are soldiers.’ They insulted me, and I insulted them back. They started to open the doors of my car. Then their commander arrived and took them away, or traffic would have been paralyzed,” detailed Vahan Janoyan.
