Police Uncover Illegal Drug Trafficking Chain
Recently, a joint operation by the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan police and the Malatia division led to the detention of two men, aged 48 and 39, on suspicion of holding and using narcotics on Sebastatsi Street, according to the official website of the police.
During a personal search, six packages of foil containing pill fragments were discovered on one of the suspects. According to the detained individual, the found items were pills of 'Subutex.'
A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident, and investigative efforts revealed the entire network of illegal drug trafficking. It was established that the man had acquired the pills from a second individual, who, in turn, had obtained them from a third person. The identities of both individuals were clarified in a short time. On the morning of May 24, the second suspect was identified, detained, and presented for interrogation.
Later in the afternoon, police apprehended the last individual of the drug chain on Andranik Street. A personal search of the 38-year-old man, who resides in the H.A. B-2 neighborhood, led to the discovery of one psychoactive pill. As part of the ongoing criminal case, a search of his residence was also conducted, resulting in the seizure of over 150 various psychoactive medications. Relevant examinations have been ordered, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
