Serious Accident in Yerevan: Injuries Reported
On May 28, a serious traffic accident occurred in Yerevan. At around 20:30, on Tbilisi Highway, near the Shampain wine factory, three vehicles were involved in a collision: a Ford driven by 24-year-old Sos Gasparyan from Yerevan with license plate 36 AX 371, an Opel driven by 39-year-old Alik Benyaminian from Sevan with license plate 35 RV 115, and another Opel driven by 31-year-old Vasil Saribekyan from Abovyan with license plate 35 ZF 402.
According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, who reported from the scene, as a result of the accident, driver Sos Gasparyan was transported to Heratsi University Hospital with bodily injuries, while Alik Benyaminian was taken to Malayan Medical Center. Officers from the first patrol battalion of the traffic police arrived at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that the Ford was at fault, having collided with the Opels that were stopped at a red light and then veered into the oncoming traffic lane, ending up on the sidewalk designated for pedestrians.
