Attack on Schoolchildren in Japan Leaves Victims
An unknown assailant attacked people standing at the Caritas private school bus stop in Japan with a knife. Japanese media report this incident.
It is believed that the attacker was the father of one of the students, who targeted first-grade children. One of the girls has died from the injuries sustained. A 39-year-old man, the father of one of the students who tried to save the children, also died.
Additionally, 16 girls were injured, including elementary school students aged 6-7. During his arrest, the perpetrator inflicted a knife wound on himself in the neck. He later died after losing consciousness. The motives behind the attack are unknown.
