Protest at 'Nairi Shin': Over 100 Employees Have Not Received Salaries
On May 27th, employees from several companies operating under the balance of 'Nairi Shin' closed joint-stock company gathered in the courtyard of the company located in the administrative area of Yeghvard, Kotayk Province, according to Shamshyan.com.
In an interview with photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the gathered individuals expressed their frustration: 'For several years now, the director of 'Nairi' CJSC, Yagor Kherimyan, has been playing games with us. It has become well-known that he is like the 'liar' from the theater of 'Required a Liar.' Every day, we are told that we will be paid, but the payments are not coming. We are not asking for favors; we are claiming our hard-earned salaries. We have been waiting for 8-9 months, hoping that the payments will come. We have worked through all four seasons for our health, believing that Kherimyan would keep his promise. Now we have realized once again that he is just putting a soft pillow under our heads. He justifies that the Ministry of Communications and Transport has not transferred the funds. Today, he responded to our phone calls stating that he is in Yerevan, at the Ministry of Communications, waiting to meet with Minister Hakob Arshakyan, during which he will present our issues and will return to respond, probably positively.'
In the discussion with the photojournalist, the general director of 'Hayavtojan,' Gor Avetisyan, mentioned: 'We are familiar with the issue; the Ministry of Communications and Transport has fulfilled its obligations to the said company until March this year — we have transferred the entire amount. Regarding why Y. Kherimyan has not paid the salaries, that is no longer our concern. As for after March, we have discovered some deficiencies and have instructed that when the deficiencies are eliminated, the Ministry of Communications will transfer the funds.'
